China to cancel export tax rebates for photovoltaic and battery products (including STPP and SHMP)

China announced on January 9, 2026, that it will change export tax rebate policies for a range of products including photovoltaic (solar) products and batteries. The announcement was jointly issued by the Ministry of Finance and the State Taxation Administration.

VAT export tax rebates for photovoltaic products will be canceled starting April 1, 2026.

The VAT export tax rebate rate for battery products will be reduced from 9% to 6% from April 1 to December 31, 2026, and fully cancelled from January 1, 2027.
Our food grade and industrial grade sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP) and SHMP are listed in the list on cancelling export tax rebate.
their price will accordingly increase 9%˜13%.
